The Championship Manager series was developed by the Collyer brothers, Paul and Oliver, and published by Domark. The first game in the series was released in 1992 for the Amiga and Atari ST, and it was an instant hit among football fans and gamers alike.
The game was revolutionary for its time, featuring a vast database of players and teams, and it allowed players to manage a football team in a realistic and detailed simulation. The series quickly became a cult classic, with fans spending countless hours glued to their screens, guiding their favorite teams to glory.
The most popular installment of the series in the 90s was probably Championship Manager 97/98, which was released in 1997. This version of the game introduced a number of new features, such as the ability to manage national teams, and it was praised for its depth and realism. It was also known for its addictive gameplay, with many players spending more time on the game than they would care to admit.
Over the years, the Championship Manager series evolved, with new installments introducing new features and improvements. The series eventually became the Football Manager series we know today, but for many fans, the 90s era of Championship Manager will always hold a special place in their hearts.
